BARC Without Benedini
Where to get the low cost sound board?
The BARC3 can be used without the Benedini. It basically becomes a DBC2, with no servo recoil.( Sorry this interface was needed to communicate with the Benedini TBS). Above is a basic layout diagram showing where everything is, and should show you all the connection points required to hook it up. This is an excellent low cost option sound board. You can save .wav files to it for a Cannon sound, Hit sound, and Destroy sound.
You would have to hook this back into the RX 18 to amplify the sounds, as illustrated in Darkiths How To manual. You take the sound output from the sound board and tie it in to the RX 18 at the volume control. A resistor needs to be inline to sound match the sound board to the RX 18 on board sounds. Try 15000 ohms.

The above diagram illustrates how to wire up the sound connections on the low cost 123 electronics board.
Of course you have to load wav files into these addresses, but that is explained in the sound board instruction.
Basically you plug it into your computer, run the software and load the files on the board.
The BARC can supply power to this sound board, and the connection points are the ones circled. I left off all other wiring to simplify this diagram. The connection to the RX sound amplifier( Green Line) can be spliced into the cable feeding the volume control.( Not shown)
